Substitute Tomas Necid holds his nerve to earn Czechs a thrilling last-gasp draw
Goals from Ivan Perisic and Ivan Rakitic put Croatia in driving seat but last-minute penalty earns Czechs a reprieve
FIGHTS broke out between fans and flares were thrown on the pitch as Czech Republic took advantage of crowd trouble to secure a last-gasp point.
Ref Mark Clattenburg was forced to stop play minutes from the end as flares were chucked onto the field by a section of Croatia fans.
And things got worse for Luka Modric and Co when the Czechs secured a last-minute penalty to level the game and keep themselves in Euro 2016.
Croatia players were left shaking their heads at the final whistle after dominating proceedings from the start.
Ivan Perisic had put his side ahead after 37 minutes with a well-taken effort as the Czechs tried desperately to stop attack after attack.
Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic then doubled Croatia's advantage with a delightful chip approaching the hour mark, and it seemed there was no way back for Petr Cech's men.
However, Milan Skoda pulled one back with 15 minutes remaining to give his team a glimmer of hope.
And with just three minutes of the 90 left, play was held up as some Croatia fans inexplicably threw flares on the pitch and at stewards as fighting broke out in the stands.
Their players appealed for calm and when the game finally resumed, Croatia's worst nightmares were realised as Czech Republic won and converted an unlikely penalty.
Substitute Tomas Necid was the man who held his nerve and secured an unlikely point for his team, and in a double whammy Croatia are now likely to face a Uefa probe for the crowd disturbances.
