Saido Berahino a £22m target for Stoke in Mark Hughes’ £50m summer spending spree
£11m-rated Nathan Redmond is another target for Stoke, as is Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel in a £17m deal
MARK HUGHES is plotting a £50million summer spree.
Stoke boss Sparky has opened talks with West Brom about signing hitman Saido Berahino for £22m.
Norwich winger Nathan Redmond is another target at £11m.
And Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel will cost £17m from Russians Zenit St Petersburg.
Hughes is spending big in a bid to better last season’s ninth place.
Potters chief executive Tony Scholes confirmed: “There is a lot of work going on and a few things that are bubbling along.”
WEST BROM have renewed their interest in QPR’s Matt Phillips with a £4million bid.
A year ago, Rangers wanted £8m for the winger but Baggies boss Tony Pulis would not go above £7m.
QPR must offload big earners and will listen to bids rather than lose Phillips, 25, for nothing next year.
ROMA are eyeing Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta.
The Italians need a new right-back and the Manchester City pair top owner Walter Sabatini’s list.
The duo’s futures are uncertain under incoming Etihad boss Pep Guardiola.
