And he took that level of performance onto the international stage with his fantastic display in the 4-1 victory against Central African Republic in a World Cup qualifier.

Ziyech set up Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi for Morocco's first on ten minutes.

CAR equalised but that only seemed to antagonise Morocco.

The Blues midfielder scored from the spot to put Morocco back in front.

Ziyech, 27, then made it 3-1 from an incredible angle before the Atlas Lions added a fourth through Zakaria Aboukhlal.

It follows Ziyech's sensational form for Chelsea over the last month.

After an injury-plagued start to his career at Stamford Bridge, he has hit the ground running.

He has two goals, one in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.

He also has three Premier League assists.

The Moroccan produced a stunning display in the 4-1 win over Sheffield United, making more chances than any other player in the Prem this season.

Ziyech did not make his first full Prem start for Chelsea until October 31 in the 3-0 win at Burnley.

The African cost £37million from Ajax.

Although the transfer went through in January he stayed in Amsterdam for the remainder of last season.

He has already won over Blues boss Frank Lampard - after being told to get in the gym and get super-fit.

Lamps enthused: "He impresses you even more when you work with him.

"The Dutch league finished a long time ago, then he had an injury so to hit the ground running like he has, he has been remarkable.

"He will be a big player for us. I need players who can come in and lift the level."
