CELTA VIGO star Nolito has denied claims he’s agreed to join Manchester City this summer.
The versatile forward is currently on Euro 2016 duty with Spain, but reports in his homeland allege that a deal has already been struck with big-spenders City.
Pep Guardiola has apparently met Nolito’s £14million release clause after signing Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan, and terms are said to have been agreed on a three-year deal.
But the 29-year-old, who could come in as a replacement for AC Milan and Inter Milan target Jesus Navas, insists he is yet to sign any documents or even talk to his potential new boss.
Nolito told Radio Marca: “We’ll see what happens with my future, but I won’t complain about how things are going for me sportingly.
“For now, I haven’t signed with Manchester City but I won’t lie so we’ll see. I haven’t spoken to Guardiola.”
One man who thinks Nolito will thrive at the Etihad is former City youngster John Guidetti.
The duo play together at Celta, and Guidetti believes his teammate deserves his potential move to the Premier League.
The Sweden international said: “He is an amazing footballer. I played with him this year and for a striker to have someone like that playing on the wing for you, it is an absolute pleasure.
“He just brings the ball into you and he has great delivery, you can just see it in the way he has performed at the Euros.
“I am pleased for him as well because this was a big, big time for him and this is a big opportunity for him. He deserves it.”
City’s summer spending is unlikely to stop with Nolito, with big-money moves for Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Juventus’ Paul Pogba also in the works.
