Martin Skrtel’s Instagram praises message calling Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp a d***head – but the Slovakia defender apologises and blames everything on a ‘close friend’
MARTIN SKRTEL catapulted himself into a social media storm after his backed an abusive attack on his Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
The unsettled Slovakian defender appeared to praise a message calling the German a "d***head".
Skrtel, 31, later apologised and blamed a "close friend".
But the exchange surely makes his Anfield exit even more likely this summer.
Skrtel, still recovering from Slovakia's 3-0 Euro 2016 defeat against Germany, has struggled to impress Klopp since the ex-Borussia Dortmund chief arrived in the Premier League last October.
And any rumblings of discontent will have soared after Skrtel seemed to endorse a hashtag from poster pharrelski that, when translated, proclaims: “KloppIsAD***head”.
Skrtel's account replied with: “Last hashtag is TOP“ - backed by lots of smiley faces.
Phrarreslki added: “Hope Jurgen won’t see it.”
Skrtel's account then dug a deeper hole for the centre-back by responding: “Hope he does!”
But Skrtel later put up a message to say he was "truly sorry".
He added that he had asked a friend to do his social media as he was so busy.
Skrtel claimed the pal had not realised how serious the matter was - and also insisted his own views were different.
