LIVERPOOL have agreed a £4million compensation deal with Watford to allow teenage striker Jerome Sinclair to move to Vicarage Road.

Sinclair had refused the offer of a new contract at Anfield after growing frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities.

But because he is under 24, Watford needed to make a payment to the Reds rather than sign him on a free transfer.

And the two clubs have now settled on that fee, allowing the 19-year-old to complete his move to the Hornets.

Sinclair endured a frustrating time at Liverpool as he struggled to make an impact on the first team despite being the youngest player ever to play for the club aged 16 years and 6 days.

He was restricted to brief substitute appearances or matches against lower league opposition in cup games as boss Jurgen Klopp felt he wasn't ready to make the step up on a regular basis.

And the player decided the best way he could develop as a player would be to move elsewhere.

Bournemouth had offered him an opportunity in January but he decided against the move as he already began looking towards Watford.

And the Birmingham-born player has finally now sealed the switch and is targeting becoming a first team regular next season.
