RYAN GIGGS has left Manchester United after 29 years.
The Welsh Wizard and Old Trafford legend has agreed a settlement package with the club.
Giggs, 42, had a year left on his contract as assistant manager but will be replaced by Rui Faria, new boss Jose Mourinho's right-hand man.
United are expected to release a statement on his departure in the coming days.
Giggs was frustrated at being overlooked for the top job after serving under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.
He did briefly take solo charge of the club for the final four games of the 2013-14 season.
But his candidacy for manager was never fully backed by club bosses, the latest snub coming when they plumped for Mourinho.
