Chris Gunter’s parents boycott brother’s wedding to roar on Dragons in huge Euro 2016 semi-final against Portugal
Marc ties the knot in Mexico without parents and best man
CHRIS GUNTER has caused his family a massive headache with Wales' unbelievable Euro 2016 campaign.
His brother Marc is due to be married in Mexico this Thursday, although he will still deliver the best man speech via Skype.
It's left the brothers parents having to choose loyalties between sons and it now means that Chris won't be the only family member missing the big occasion.
Sarah and Gerald Gunter simply cannot miss the biggest game in Wales history on Wednesday, when they take on Portugal in Lyon.
Chris, 26, told the : “Mum is a bit upset at having to choose. It has caused chaos.
“You couldn’t begin to imagine the trouble it’s caused. I’m not sure what Marc will do if we make the final. He might be divorced by then.”
The wedding was planned earlier this year so perhaps brother Marc and his wife-to-be Danielle didn't have much faith in Chris and his team mates reaching this stage of the Euros.
However Marc has been in among the pandemonium of thousands of Welsh supporters in France but will be leaving earlier than the rest to prepare for his wedding.
Chris said: "Speak to my parents and they're fuming. It's Marc's own fault. He's been to every game and hasn't been at work for a month."
Chris may have given his parents a tough test but the biggest test for the defender will be stopping Cristiano Ronaldo on Wednesday evening.
Tickets for the quarter- final against Belgium were hard to come by in Lille due to only being 15 miles from the Belgian border.
Eurostar and Eurotunnel have reported that there has been a huge rise in bookings for the next two days.
The Wales team will fly to Lyon on Tuesday morning to be put through their paces before the big game.
