Moutinho seemingly got cold feet, but Ron talked the Monaco star into taking a spot kick.

As Moutinho was deliberating on the pitch, his skipper said: "Hey! Come kick, come kick.

"You hit them well. If we lose f*** it!

"Be strong, come on, you hit them well."

The former Porto midfielder, 29, was fired up by his captain's words and stepped up to take a spot kick.

As he readied himself, Ronaldo added: "It's in gods hands now."

Portugal managed to defeat Poland 5-3 on pens and book their spot in the semi-final against underdogs Wales.

Ronaldo, Renato Sanches, Moutinho and Ricardo Quaresma all buried their penalties to go through.

And Euro 2016 now plays host to a Ronaldo versus Gareth Bale showdown, with the two Real Madrid team-mates going head-to-head.
