NOTTINGHAM FOREST have signed Brighton’s experienced striker Glenn Murray.

Chris Hughton wasted no time this morning adding the 37-year-old to his armoury and says he values Murray’s leadership qualities as much as his ability to stick the ball in the net.

Hughton, who worked with Murray on the South Coast, ; “Glenn is a player I know very well and he has an excellent pedigree at this level.

“Certainly he will add leadership and experience to our squad between now and the end of the season.”

Murray spent the first half of the season on loan at Watford but failed to score in six outings.

However Hughton has no doubts he will have more success at the City Ground.

He added: "He is a proven goalscorer at Premier League and Championship level and has continued to keep himself fit so we are looking forward to what he can bring to the squad ahead of a busy run of fixtures."

Murray’s signing follows hard on the heels of the loan deal for Manchester United midfielder James Garner until the end of the season.

Hughton is also on the lookout for a goalkeeper after QPR rejected his request to take Joe Lumley on loan until the end of the season.

Meanwhile experienced midfielder Harry Arter and Samba Sow have both been linked with exits.
