Arsenal transfer news: Arsene Wenger hands trial to Dutch goalkeeper Guy Smit
Smit, 20, is out of contract after leaving NEC Nijmegen last season and has had offers from Championship clubs
ARSENAL will hand a two-week trial to Dutch goalkeeper Guy Smit.
The 20-year-old is out of contract having left Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen at the end of the season - he didn't make a senior appearance last season.
However, the 6ft 3in goalkeeper is highly rated and has been offered contracts by numerous clubs in the Championship.
He told Dutch media: "This opportunity I have to seize."
Although Petr Cech is entrenched as Arsene Wenger's No 1 goalkeeper, who will deputise for the keeper is less clear.
