VICTOR VALDES is due on Teesside tomorrow for a medical as he edges closer to a sensational move to Middlesbrough.
The Spanish keeper, 34, is out of contract after being released by Manchester United.
But Valdes now looks set to stay in the Premier League with new boys Boro.
Aitor Karanka’s side have been on the hunt for a new stopper, with question marks over 37-year-old Dimi Konstantopoulos’ suitability for the top flight.

Boro’s Spanish boss Karanka and his keeping coach Leo Percovich were in Barcelona last week try and persuade Valdes to pick Boro.
And they now look to have beaten Besiktas and Sporting Lisbon in the race to sign the Nou Camp legend on a free transfer.
Valdes hinted at the move last night when he started following Boro’s official Twitter account.
