MANCHESTER UNITED will be without Paul Pogba for 'a few weeks' with a thigh injury.

The Frenchman hobbled off in the 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday and underwent scans on his injury the following day.

And his absence means he will miss United's Europa League knockout clash with Real Sociedad.

Pogba is also likely to miss the trip to Chelsea later this month and could face a race against time to take on neighbours Man City on March 6.

But his absence could be a blessing in disguise.

Despite his resurgence, the stats show that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have a better record WITHOUT Pogba in his starting XI.

Manchester United have won every one of their seven matches without the £89million Frenchman, having won half of their games with him.

They also average a whopping 3.9 goals per game without him compared to 1.8 with him.

United are also conceding less goals on average, having more shots per game and even have more possession than their opponents.

His absence could give team-mates such as Donny van de Beek an opportunity to stake their claim.

Pogba's future at Old Trafford has been plunged into doubt yet again with the club and player at loggerheads over his contract.

It currently expires in 2022 and interest from Real Madrid and Juventus means he continues to hold off putting pen-to-paper.
