Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen a confirmed target for Sevilla amid Swansea interest
Reds' Europa League vanquishers also looking into possibility of a return for Luis Alberto as Anfield club eye replacements
SEVILLA have confirmed they want to sign Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen.
And the Spanish club – who beat the Reds in the Europa League final – have confessed that Allen’s team-mate Luis Alberto is also a target.
Allen has just a year left on his deal at Anfield and the club have already dismissed an £8million bid from former club Swansea this summer.
After his performances in Wales’ brilliant Euro 2016 campaign, boss Jurgen Klopp is hoping to bank around £14m for the 30-cap international.
Sao Paulo midfielder Ganso is another that the Rojiblancos are keen on after they lost Argentina international Ever Banega, who left for Inter Milan on a free transfer.
And Sevilla sporting director Monchi admits that he is keen on bringing winger Luis Alberto back to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, as well as a move for Allen.
Monchi said: “It will take all afternoon to name everyone and I don’t like talking about players, who aren’t Sevilla's.
“Ganso and Allen aren’t the only ones on the list.
“They meet the profile, but they don’t have to be the ones who come.”
Sevilla flogged former Spain under-21 international Luis Alberto to Reds in a £6.8m deal in 2013.
But the player – who Nice are also targeting to replace PSG-bound Hatem Ben Arfa - has managed just nine Premier League appearances and spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna, netting six times in 31 games.
Monchi added: “We received an offer from Luis Alberto’s agent.
“We’re assessing it, but we haven’t started talks with Liverpool.
“He fits in our game style and can be an interesting option for us.”
The Reds appear to be gearing up for departures and have made a £12.8m bid for Croatia starlet Ante Coric.
They have already moved to secure the services of forward Sadio Mane in a £30m deal from Southampton.
And £4.7m goalkeeper Loris Karius has joined from Klopp’s former club Mainz, while Cameroonian centre-back Joel Matip signed up for free.
