League One Bradford set to sign Blackpool stopper Owen Doyle for the princely sum of £1
Towering Irish stopper had a release clause in his contract and is likely to jump ship following the Seasiders' relegation
BRADFORD are set to sign Blackpool stopper Colin Doyle for the princely sum of £1.
The towering Irish stopper had a release clause in his contract and is likely to jump ship following the Seasiders' relegation to League Two.
Doyle was one of the stand-out performers last campaign - leading to him being handed a League One lifeline by the Bantams.
A one-cap Ireland international, 31-year-old Doyle spent 12 years at Birmingham but managed just 64 appearances.
But moving to Blackpool kick-started his career and he played 35 times last season.
Bradford almost won promotion to the Championship in 2015-16 but lost 4-2 on aggregate to Millwall in the play-off semi-finals.
The Bantams finished fifth - five points off automatic promotion - and boss Stuart McCall is keen to strengthen his squad to ensure they can go one step further.
He has already signed defender Nathaniel Knight-Percival and midfielder Nicky Law on free transfers from Shrewsbury and Rangers.
