Rangers won their first title in a decade on Sunday to end Celtic's domestic dominance in Scotland.

And Keane was asked on Sky Sports if he had a congratulatory message for Steven Gerrard's side.

He responded: "For Rangers? No.

"Listen, it's been a tough year for Celtic but they'll bounce back next year like all great clubs do."

Fellow pundit and Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher was full of praise for his good friend and ex-team-mate Gerrard.

The duo won the Champions League together at Anfield - but neither had lifted a title.

Carragher said: “They must have been terrified for years that the record would have been beaten by Celtic.

“When Gerrard came in, that was the name of the game to stop Celtic achieving that.
