The Welshman — who signed a one-year deal with the Spireites last month — played for an hour as he resumed his career at the League One club.

It was the striker’s first professional appearance since 2012, having spent two-and-a-half years in jail.

Evans, 27, won an appeal for his conviction for rape in April.

His retrial will be on October 4.
