Manchester City starlet Marlos Moreno confirms his £10million Premier League move after lifting Copa Libertadores

Manchester United were interested in the Nacional teenager before Pep Guardiola swooped for the Colombian starlet

MARLOS MORENO has confirmed he has joined Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City revolution.

The Colombian midfielder won the Copa Libertadores with Atletico Nacional on Wednesday night with a 2-1 aggregate triumph over South American rivals Independiente del Valle.

The Colombian side won 1-0 on Wednesday after drawing 1-1 with the Ecuadorians in the first-leg.

An early goal from Miguel Borja secured the second Libertadores for Nacional but it was boy wonder Moreno who bagged plenty of plaudits after them match when he emotionally revealed it was his last game for the side and the perfect send-off.

Moreno said: “I am very happy, I did not expect this. National is everything to me. It is the best thing that happened in my life.”

The 19-year-old will not be lighting up trhe Etihad right away, however, he is set for a season-long loan to Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna first.

Manchester United and Benfica were chasing the left winger but Pep Guardiola has beaten them to the punch to land the teenager with a fee of around £10million.

The master midfielder made his debut for Atletico as a 17-year-old, scored the fastest goal in the club’s history, after just 30 seconds, as they won the 2015 league title.

SunSport revealed at the start of July that a deal was all but complete after Colombia’s coach Carlos Restrepo claimed City had already blocked the youngster from playing in the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympics.
