GYLFI SIGURDSSON is set to snub a £25million approach from Everton in order to sign a new deal at Swansea.

Premier League champions Leicester, as well as Southampton, had also been keen on securing Sigurdsson's signature.

But now the Euro 2016 hero is set to stay on at Swansea for at least the next four years.

Sigurdsson had two years left to run on his current deal, but with the clock ticking, many rival clubs felt they had a chance to land their man, hoping the Swans would cash in before he left on a free.

But all fears have been allayed as the star midfielder has agreed to put pen to paper on a fresh contract, after his incredible performances this summer in France caught the eye of a host of top clubs.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund were also reportedly keen on the Icelandic ace, as well as Hertha Berlin.

The news will come as a major boost for fans of the south Wales club as it appears both Ashley Williams and Andre Ayew could be on the move.

Williams is edging towards a £10m move to Everton, while West Ham have tabled a fresh £20m bid for Ayew.
