Ronaldinho’s attempt to troll Sergio Ramos backfires after Real Madrid captain’s amazing response to Barcelona legend
RONALDINHO'S attempt to troll Sergio Ramos on Twitter backfired in dramatic fashion after the departing Los Blancos captain hit back.
Barcelona legend Ronaldinho poked fun at the 35-year-old with a throwback snap of the pair but the Brazilian ended up with egg on his face.
Ramos will leave the Bernabeu at the end of the month after 16 trophy-laden years with the Spanish giants.
He has played in countless Clasicos against Real's bitter rivals Barcelona who Ronaldinho, 41, played for for five years between 2003 and 2008.
And the ex-AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain wizard wanted to remind Ramos of a painful Clasico memory involving the pair.
He uploaded a picture of Ramos shadowing him with the ball and wrote: "Hey @SergioRamos – remember this night?!"
He may have been attempting to remind the centre-back of Barcelona's 3-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu during the 2005-06 season when Ronaldinho scored twice.
But the picture he shared was actually from the 2006-07 season when Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-0 at the Bernabeu.
Real won their 30th LaLiga title at the end of that campaign and Ramos was quick to remind the genius of his mistake.
The Spaniard replied with a picture of Real's open-top bus title parade through Madrid with the jubilant Real squad surrounded by thousands of delighted Madridistas.

And he wrote: "I do… but this one a few months later was way better."
Ramos played 671 times for Real after a £23million move from Sevilla in 2005, scoring an incredible 101 goals during a 16-year spell.
He led Real to numerous trophies, including five LaLiga titles, four Champions Leagues and two Copa del Reys.
Ramos is also the most capped player in Spain’s history despite missing out on their Euros squad, representing his country 180 times.
New Real boss Carlo Ancelotti was eager for Ramos to stay.
But Los Blancos were only offering a one-year contract on reduced pay, and Ramos claims he missed a deadline to respond to the offer.
Ramos was in floods of tears at his farewell press conference.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United with the Red Devils said to have a 'clear path' after PSG reportedly pulled out because of his £200,000-a-week wage demands.
And he has ruled out joining another club in Spain and says he will return to Real Madrid one day.
