Inter Milan sign Hakan Calhanoglu in controversial free transfer from bitter rivals AC Milan
INTER MILAN have confirmed the controversial signing of Hakan Calhanoglu from bitter rivals AC Milan.
After months of speculation, Calhanoglu has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Nerazzurri, who landed him on a free transfer.
The attacking midfielder's contract with Milan expired earlier in the summer and that means the Rossoneri also lost him for free.
The 27-year-old posed in front of Inter's trophies after agreeing terms with his new club, which : "FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Hakan Calhanoglu has joined the Nerazzurri.
"The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a deal with the Club lasting until 30 June 2024."
Calhanoglu amassed nine goals and 12 assists in 43 matches across all competitions last season.

But the Turkey international confirmed a while earlier that he won't be extending his four-year stay with the Rossoneri and will instead be joining Inter.
Calhanoglu previously told TRT Spor: "I agreed with Inter. I'm going to Milan. I will sign a contract tomorrow."
The Turkish ace was previously linked with a number of top clubs, such as Premier League giants Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Gunners saw him as the perfect replacement for former loanee Martin Odegaard, who's returned to parent club Real Madrid.
Juventus were also reportedly keen on signing Calhanoglu as they look to bounce back following a hapless campaign.
The midfielder took part in Euro 2020 but struggled as Turkey finished bottom of Group A with three defeats.
