'ONE, TWO, THREE, BEND'

Uri Geller claims he was behind England’s Euro 2020 win over Germany after magically BENDING Thomas Muller’s shot

SPOON BENDER Uri Geller has taken credit for England’s victory over Germany after claiming he made Thomas Muller miss his big chance.

The Israeli-British illusionist previously took credit back at Euro 96 when Gary McAllister missed a penalty for Scotland seconds before Paul Gascoigne’s famous strike in the 2-0 win.

Geller said he made McAllister miss his penalty against England when he screamed out loud: ‘One, two, three, MOVE!’ 25 years ago.

Replays of the spot-kick appeared to show the ball moving a fraction just before the Scottish star struck it.

On Tuesday, the Three Lions recorded another epic victory that will live long in the memory when Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane secured a 2-0 win over Germany in the last 16 of Euro 2020.

But just moments before the England captain grabbed the second, the raucous Wembley crowd held their breath as Muller found himself clean through one-on-one with Jordan Pickford.

Sterling’s loose ball was pounced on by Kai Havertz who quickly sent the veteran away but both England and German supporters were left stunned when the striker dragged his shot wide.

Wembley erupted as the celebrations began before the delirium of Kane’s header shortly afterwards.

But it seems there was more than just good luck involved, according to Geller.

That is despite him being thousands of miles away watching the game on a phone ahead of performing his show on stage in Israel.

He told the : “There is no doubt in my mind that I was responsible for Muller’s miss."

Geller went on to explain: “I was just about to go on the stage. I was behind the curtain. Shipi [his brother-in-law and right hand man] had the Euros app on his phone and I was watching the match.

“The saxophone player also had the match on and he will vouch for the fact that as Muller shaped up to shoot, I shouted, ‘One, two, three, bend’.

“He was also shouting ‘bend’ as Muller tried to make contact with the ball. Instead of the word ‘move’ that I used in 1996, I shouted ‘bend’.

“When I saw that England had won, I ran on to the stage and everyone was applauding.

“If you play back the miss in slow motion you will be amazed what you see.

“The power of the mind is immense.”
