And the big-spending champions plan to follow that up by landing Harry Kane in another monster transfer swoop.

DREAM TEAM IS BACK!

City’s bid for Aston Villa skipper Grealish, 25, would make him the most expensive player in Premier League history.

Etihad chiefs are confident Grealish wants to come — with the chance to play Champions League football under Pep Guardiola too good to turn down.

They then aim to strike a deal with Tottenham for England skipper Kane, 28, that would break the British transfer record AGAIN.

SunSport reported on Monday that City wanted to make progress this week in their pursuit of Grealish.

We also revealed on Thursday the champions were ready to break the bank to finally get their man.

That now seems inevitable, with the Villa Park board considering their eye-watering offer.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak promised City would splash out this summer.

And it is understood they would pay £100m UP FRONT for Grealish, without any add-ons.

Villa are desperate to keep him, but he was not part of the promotional material marketing their new away kit on Friday.

The transfer, which would smash United’s £89m deal for Paul Pogba, will not impact City’s Kane chase.

But they refuse to meet Spurs’ £160m asking price.

City declined to comment on reports they have made an offer for Grealish.

Villa, meanwhile, have had a £25m bid for midfielder James Ward-Prowse, 26, snubbed by Southampton.
