IT'S the news everyone was waiting for but no-one was surprised by: Paul Pogba is officially a Manchester United player once more.
After leaving Old Trafford in 2012 for just £800,000, the French midfielder, 23, has returned for the astronomical fee of £109million.
£20m of that sum is earmarked for Pogba's super-agent Mino Raiola, making the former Juventus man the most expensive player in the world at an incredible £89m.
And Pogba will officially wear the No6 jersey for the 2016-17 season after United announced the news on Twitter, accompanied by a picture of the midfielder showing off his new strip.
After signing a five-year contract, the Frenchman said: "This transfer took so long because it was a huge decision and involved lots of thinking and work.
"The wait was as annoying to me as it was to you.
"It is difficult to explain so much in a few lines but I made a decision guided by my heart and nothing else.
“Juventus will always be a part of me and I will always miss, love and be grateful to the club, the team and especially the supporters. I hope you can respect my decision.
“The most beautiful part of friendship is to understand and be understood."
Pogba added he has returned to 'finish what he started' after his turbulent first spell in England - where his mum Yeo Moriba famously clashed with Sir Alex Ferguson.
He said: “I just came back to Carrington and it feels like I just came back home.
“It looks like I just went for a holiday, I come back home, I’m happy. I see everyone, the same person, it’s just a great feeling to be honest.
“I think it’s destiny. First my mum told me I would come back here and I told her ‘you never know, you’ll see’ and it was always a challenge for me – to come from where I started.

“I didn’t finish what I started here, so I think I came to finish it.
“My mum – you always say your mum is right, so she was right this time – that’s good.
"The thing is I only think about the pitch. I want to do great, I want to be one of the best.
"I want to win titles, I want to achieve things and that’s why I came here, to do this, to become one of the best, to win titles.
“Because I know this club has to win titles. It’s great to win titles, to win things, to win big things.
“That’s why I’m focused on this, to get ready to go and work on that and just kill it.
“There was a bit of sadness of course, because we lost the final, at home, but I’m happy now. I’m back home.
“It’s something crazy, it’s really crazy, I cannot explain. I’m really happy.
“The feeling I have in my body is that I cannot wait to start.
“I was younger, now I’m taller and bigger. I was meant to come back here, I always had this United thing in my heart and that’s why I came back and I’m happy.
“I got more experience, I won titles at Juventus. I’ve been playing with big players like when I started at United of course.
“I’ve not come back from the academy now, I’ve come back from somewhere else and I’ve come back as a person, as an adult, with experience in more games. So I think that’s the difference.”
