Rachid Ghezzal to West Ham: Hammers make enquiry about Lyon winger… but face fight with Everton for his signature
Hammers have signed nine players this summer as they make their move to the Olympic Stadium
WEST HAM have made an enquiry about Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal – but they face a fight with Everton for the Algeria international.
The 24-year-old, who was born in France, was an ever-present in the Lyon side last season, making 29 appearances in Ligue 1.
Slaven Bilic has already added nine new additions to his squad as they prepare for European football in their new Olympic Stadium.
The Hammers, however, are not alone in their interest in the player. Ghezzal is also a target for Ronald Koeman's Everton, according to the Daily Mail.
Ghezzal, the younger brother of Algerian international Abdelkader Ghezzal, has made six appearances for the Algeria national team.
West Ham completed the £20.5million signing of Andre Ayew from Swansea City earlier this week.
Ayew said: "The club have a lot of ambition and have a great manager.
"They want to become a bigger club every year and with the new stadium and a new training ground, you can feel they are moving on to another level and I want to be part of this project."
