Messi signed for PSG on a free transfer earlier this month.

Fans cannot wait to see him form a fantasy football front three with Neymar, 29, and Mbappe, 22.

But that is not guaranteed with French ace Mbappe being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.

And Kroos, 31, reckons Messi's arrival in France can only be a boost to Real's chances of landing the former Monaco man.

Speaking to his brother on their podcast , the German said: "We'll see how it all works out (Messi to PSG).

"Maybe the move is good for us because our biggest competitor has lost their best player.

"And maybe even more good things will come out of it as a result.

"Maybe [a player] from Paris joins us… If that (Mbappe joining Madrid) should actually happen - I don't know - this whole Messi deal would certainly not be a disadvantage for us."

Mbappe has reportedly told his PSG team-mates he will stay with the team for one more season but wants to leave for Real next summer when his contract expires.

PSG are said to be prepared to let him go as they plan to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo as a replacement.

And they won't have to spend a penny on the 36-year-old as his Juventus contract also runs out next year.

Fans have been split for years over who is the best - Messi or Ronaldo. But Kroos is in no doubt.

He added: "From my playing days, it's Ronaldo [best player of all time].

"Of course I'm biased because he made a decisive contribution to us winning a lot of titles. It was exciting and impressive [to play alongside Ronaldo].

"We were not only team-mates, but also neighbours in the dressing room and neighbours in private.
