A MEMBER of the Qatari royal family has slammed Real Madrid for attempting to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani told the Spanish giants to meet Paris Saint-Germain's valuation of the striker - or 'complete the season with the golfer', Gareth Bale.

It is not the first time that Al-Thani, who has links to the Qatari sovereign wealth fund that owns PSG, has given his views on the game's big issues.

He recently insisted that he would like to sell Mbappe for £130million, rather than let the Frenchman leave for free when his contract expires at the end of the season.

And he described the £138m valuation of the player as a 'trap', given he can pre-agree a move to Madrid in January.

But Al-Thani has since slammed Los Blancos for failing to meet PSG's demands, taking aim at golf-mad Bale in the process.

He tweeted: "If you agree to the specified price.. contact us.. Or complete the season with the golfer."

In a later post which appeared to be related to the Mbappe rumours, the Sheikh added: "Friday.. They will make another offer. Let's see how it goes. Last chance.."

Al-Thani had previously set social media alight by openly discussing a move for Cristiano Ronaldo to Paris, were Mbappe to leave.

Indeed, reports in Spain have suggested that the door is open to the mega deal with Ronaldo said to be ready to leave Juventus.

Following the rejection of a £138m bid, Real may come back with a £190m offer to tempt Les Parisiens into a sale.

Mbappe is reportedly keen to sign for Madrid having so far failed to commit his future to Ligue 1 side PSG.

And Qatari Sheikh Al-Thani certainly ruffled a few feathers with his golfer jibe amid the saga.

One Twitter user, with the username Kylian Mbappe, replied: "The golfer = 4 Champions Leagues. PSG = 0 Champions Leagues."

Another posted: "But if Bale is bigger than the entire French league, what would you say?"

Cristian added: "The golfer is greater than all of your team's history."

And Ross sent Al-Thani a picture of Bale looking through binoculars with the caption: "The golfer says that no matter how much he searches, he cannot find your Champions League."

The Sheikh also teased Arsenal fans on Tuesday night with a tweet suggesting the club should be sold, leading to a number of Gooners hoping the Qataris could swoop in.

He tweeted: "I think it's time to sell. The situation is getting worse than bad. London red."
