Arsenal ratings: Aubameyang and Saka produce the goods against West Brom but defenders looked shaky against kids

ARSENAL manager Mikel Arteta will be delighted with his attackers after their convincing 6-0 win against West Brom in the League Cup.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka were the best players on the pitch but Arteta's defenders struggled at the Hawthorns.

There were also good efforts from Aaron Ramsdale and Nicolas Pepe, although others should have done more against an inexperienced outfit.

Here, SunSport rates Arteta's team after they finally achieved their first victory of the season.

Aaron Ramsdale - 8

Ramsdale made a mistake early on, launching a clearance straight at a Baggies forward as the ball deflected out for a throw-in.

That error seemed to calm his nerves and he was forced into a decent save moments later, going on to have an impressive debut.

Calum Chambers - 5

Chambers again failed to look convincing at right-back and showed why the Gunners are reportedly interested in Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier.

Rob Holding - 5

Holding was made to work by West Brom's youngsters - which says a lot about the standard of his performance.

Sead Kolasinac - 5

Kolasinac never seemed comfortable at centre-back - a worrying sign considering Arsenal's inexperienced opponents.

Nuno Tavares - 5

Tavares had a quiet game at left-back and, like his defensive colleagues, failed to impress.

Mohamed Elneny - 6

Elneny won't have many easier evenings in his Arsenal career as the Egyptian ace controlled the midfield.

Granit Xhaka - 6

Xhaka was just as comfortable in the centre of the park, producing a reassuring display.

Nicolas Pepe - 9

Pepe was a threat all evening, creating the team's second goal with a fierce shot before adding the third.

The Ivory Coast international also set up Alexandre Lacazette's strike in the second half, producing a neat low cross into the middle.

Martin Odegaard - 6

Odegaard didn't deliver in the first half, often looking weak in midfield and missing an open goal from a tight angle.

The Norweigan midfielder redeemed himself after the break, assisting Saka's goal before being hauled off.

Bukayo Saka - 9

Saka created the first goal by breaking into the box and unleashing a decent effort and was Arsenal's brightest spark on an easy evening.

The youngster's superb display proved why he's so important to the team - and he could play a pivotal role in keeping Arteta in a job.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 9

Aubameyang's experience was crucial to the Gunners, popping up in the right place at the right time to score two tap-ins at the Hawthorns.

He then scored a glorious third goal to seal his hat-trick and will be keen to get going in the Premier League at the weekend.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles - 7

Maitland-Niles produced the assist for Aubameyang's hat-trick to remind Arteta of his talents.

Lacazette took his goal well, although the contest was already settled by the time he came on.
