FORMER Manchester United winger Angel di Maria has revealed he 'didn't give a f***' about being handed the iconic No7 shirt when he arrived at Old Trafford.
The famous Red Devils jersey, which was worn by the likes of George Best, David Beckham and Bryan Robson, is currently the subject of a wrangle over whether Cristiano Ronaldo will be reunited with the number he had during his first spell at the club.
Edinson Cavani is Man Utd's No7 at present and would probably like to keep it - but Di Maria insists he did not care what shirt he was given.
Speaking to Libero, he said: "I didn't give a f*** about the Manchester United No7, at first they talked to me a lot about it... it was just a shirt."
Di Maria joined United in 2013 for £59.7million but left for Paris Saint-Germain after just one season in England.
He managed a dismal four goals in 32 games, but the Argentine blames then manager Louis van Gaal for his struggles.
The 33-year-old added: "My problem at Manchester was the coach.
"Van Gaal was the worst of my career. I would score, assist, and the next day he would show me my misplaced passes.

"He displaced me from one day to the other, he didn't like players being more than him."
It's not the first time the Argentine has pointed the finger at Van Gaal for his Old Trafford nightmare.
While speaking to radio station France Bleu he also criticised his ex-coach's management skills.
He said: "I only stayed one year. It wasn't the best period of my career, or they didn't let me have my best time there.
"There were problems with the coach at the time.
“But thanks to God, I was able to come to PSG and be myself again."
Since joining the Ligue 1 giants, Di Maria's got his career back on track, scoring 89 goals and providing 111 assists in 266 games.
