FORMER Arsenal legend Ian Wright has slated Arsene Wenger's side for their horror-show during the summer transfer window and their 4-3 home defeat at the hands of Liverpool.
The ex-Gunner, 52, laid into the club's French boss for his persistent inactivity in the market, claiming it is now embarrassing.
Speaking in the Sun's podcast alongside Shaun Custis, Wrighty said: "Jamie Vardy turning down Arsenal is a bit embarrassing.
"We're now a club where people use us to get a new contract at Leicester! When I joined Arsenal, they had just won the league twice. It's a different time.
"Before the Liverpool game, I was so nervous because there was nothing to be excited about.
"When we signed Dennis Bergkamp and Marc Overmars, it excited the fans and the players. Those signings made statements and we've seen that with the other top clubs."

Wright also had his say on the ongoing Joe Hart saga, after Pep Guardiola dropped the one-time undisputed Manchester City No1.
On the future of Hart, he said: "Joe can't complain about what's happening after the way he played at the Euros.
"He's a better goalkeeper than Willy Caballero. I'd like to see him get his place back but I can't see him staying."
After a comfortable 3-1 win over Bournemouth to kick of the season, Wright also claimed Manchester United already have 'the swagger' back under Jose Mourinho, while reserving special praise for Marcus Rashford.
He said: "Man United have the swagger of Mourinho, they've got the swagger of [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, they've got the swagger of Pogba.
"It feels like United are back to where they should be: A juggernaut rolling into town.
"Rashford has to be patient. He WILL play his part. We know what he's capable of. Being in a dressing room with Zlatan will massively help his career."
