Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere helping summer signing Rob Holding with difficult transition from Bolton
Defender had never visited London before being signed by Arsene Wenger's Premier League side
JACK WILSHERE is helping Arsenal’s summer signing with the difficult transition to North London – from Bolton!
Defender Rob Holding made his Premier League debut for the club on Sunday against Liverpool in the 4-3 defeat due Arsene Wenger’s injury crisis.
With captain Per Mertesacker and fellow centre-back Gabriel injured, the 20-year-old was thrown in the deep end and didn’t look out of place, despite having never even visited London before.
And Wilshere, who spent some formative time on loan at Bolton under current England boss Sam Allardyce, has revealed he is helping the “very northern” new boy settle in.
Wilshere told : “He’s a good lad.
“He has come from somewhere I know quite well. I spent six months at Bolton and he has come from there, so we have got quite a lot in common.
"That sums him up really [that he had never been to London]. He is very northern!
“He comes from the same area as Danny Welbeck so him and Danny have become quite close as well.
