EDINSON CAVANI has recovered from injury and is set to start in Paris Saint=Gemrain season's first home game on Sunday.

Cavani, 29, missed the opening of the Ligue 1 season last Friday when Paris SG travelled to Corsica to earn their first three points, with a 1-0 victory over Bastia.

New recruit Hatem Ben Arfa - who joined on a two-year contract from Nice - led the attack in Cavani's absence before Jese replaced him to make his debut in the 65th minute, under new boss Unai Emery.

The latter joined the French capital club this summer in a £21.2million deal from Real Madrid, as he could not find a place in Zinedine Zidane's plans.

Cavani suffered a hamstring injury, which left him unavailable to play for two weeks, with team-mate Thiago Silva.

Paris SG welcome Metz at the Parc des Pricnes on Sunday - KO at 7.45pm - and Ben Arfa should start as number 10 in Emery's 4-2-3-1 favourite formation.

Silva is still doubtful with a hip injury and needs one to two more weeks to fully recover - young talent Presnel Kimpembe should pair again with David Luiz in central midfield.

Ben Arfa scored 18 goals in 35 games for Nice last season, while Cavani was third best scorer in Ligue 1.

The pair could really make the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimović almost invisible.

The Ligue 1 reigning champions are looking to be crowded champions for a fifth consecutive time this season.
