RYAN GIGGS was surplus to requirements as part of Jose Mourinho's new Manchester United first-team coaching unit - hungry for managerial success as he rejected youth coaching role.
And it appears to have left the Red Devils legend in a spin.
The 42-year-old Welshman was a pundit on the first instalment of Sky's Friday Night Football, with United triumphing 2-0 over Southampton at Old Trafford thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's double.
And he left viewers confused by describing the Premier League as a "war of nutrition" - not once but TWICE.
Giggs said: "If you're going to challenge for four trophies then you've got to have a squad.

"And at the moment we've got a really strong squad I think, you've got so many options.
"This team, I guarantee you, will not be the team at the end of the season.
"To win the Premier League is a war of NUTRITION, through the winter months, the Christmas period.
Fellow pundit Jamie Redknapp shot Giggs a look of dismay after his first error.
But ever the pro, Redknapp continued and asked Giggs if he saw Mourinho's starting lineup against Saints as one that could win the Premier League title.
Giggs replied: "Yeah I do. I think they've got a huge chance becuase of the options they've got.
"And, like I say, to win the Premier League is a war of NUTRITION.
"You need a squad. very rarely, especially when you're in Europe and you wan to go on a cup run, you need a squad and to freshen it up.
"The biggest problem Jose has got is keeping these players happy."
