German winger is wanted by both FSV Mainz 05 and Hertha Berlin after impressing for country at Rio Olympics

ARSENAL are ready to send German winger Serge Gnabry back home to the Bundesliga for the season.

Gnabry, 21, is wanted by both FSV Mainz 05 and Hertha Berlin on a year-long loan.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will sanction the deal as the wideman is not in his plans for this term.

Gnabry has not played for the Gunners since March 2014 but helped Germany to the final of the Olympic football competition.

He is currently way down the pecking order behind the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.

Gnabry was loaned out to West Brom last season but failed to impress with just one Premier League appearance.
