Rodriguez started just three Premier League games last season

Rodriguez, who came on for the final six minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United, has barely featured for the Saints since picking up a serious knee injury in April 2014.

He started just three league matches last season but was once in the reckoning for an England call after bagging 15 league goals in the 2013/14 campaign.

And Pulis wants to rejuvenate the forward’s career by bringing him to the Hawthorns for the entire season.

The former Crystal Palace manager is looking to add at least four new faces before the transfer window slams shut.

He was expected to complete a £12million deal for Leicester’s Jeffrey Schlupp but the move is in doubt with Claudio Ranieri confident of keeping him with the Premier League champions.

The future of Saido Berahino is still in doubt but it is believed Pulis will allow the want-away striker to leave the club if they can sign a replacement.
