England No1 must get out of City quick to save his England place as Chilean move draws nearer

CLAUDIO BRAVO was allowed to miss Barcelona training yesterday as his £14.5million transfer to Manchester City was being finalised.

And now Joe Hart, 29, must get out of City quick to save his England place.

Everton are favourites for his signature but City want £30m for him.

The keeper has been dropped by new boss Pep Guardiola and will be third choice once Bravo’s move which could rise to £18m with add-ons, is completed.

Willy Caballero has been made City’s No 1 ahead of Hart, who faces a fight to keep his England spot.

Sam Allardyce’s first game in charge, a World Cup qualifier in Slovakia, is on September 4.

Stoke’s Jack Butland, who was pushing Hart for his Three Lions place before breaking his ankle against Germany last March, is injured but hopes to be fit next week.

Southampton’s Fraser Forster and Burnley captain Tom Heaton are also contenders.

Hart had a dreadful Euros, making high-profile errors as England bowed out at the last 16.

He will be sad to leave City after ten years at the club, making 347 appearances winning two titles, a League Cup and FA Cup.

He was one of the key players in that success but Guardiola is not happy with his distribution.

That is important to the new boss, who likes to build moves up from the goalkeeper rather than with long kicks forward.
