Tottenham transfer news: Spurs eyeing up move for £12.9m Barcelona forward Munir
Spurs are after the 20-year-old striker who could be on his way out of the Nou Camp due to lack of first-team opportunities
TOTTENHAM are on the hunt for Barcelona striker Munir.
According to Spanish publication , Spurs are stepping up their pursuit of the striker.
Munir, 20, is unlikely to feature much for the Catalan club this season with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez their first choice along with Neymar when he returns from the Olympics.
And the forward's agent admitted last week that his client's future could be away from the Nou Camp.
A host of Spanish clubs are interested in Munir including Valencia, Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad.
Premier League clubs Stoke and Everton are also interested in the versatile front man.
Reigning La Liga champions Barca will want £12.9m for Munir with a buy-back clause included in the deal.
Munir's agent Francesc Valdivieso said: "Barcelona told us their intention was to sign a new striker.
"Munir has to understand that it could compromise his sporting chances and stack things against him.
"Munir's opinion hasn't changed: he wants to stay at Barcelona. He would accept a loan but based on the names appearing in the media, he feels he can beat all of [the competition] so he is also thinking of staying to show he is the best choice.
"He is ready to take decisions by thinking by himself. He is not scared of staying - he would choose to stay.
"I can't guarantee Munir will be a Barcelona player on September 1. Many lines are still open. Munir is brave and will take the best decision knowing some big European clubs, some of them playing in the Champions League this season, have real interest in him.
