Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney cause mayhem in Maidenhead as they watch Wrexham play for first time
RYAN REYNOLDS and Rob McElhenney brought some Hollywood glamour to English football's fifth tier as they turned up at Maidenhead United.
The Tinseltown A-listers were watching Wrexham play for the first time since their high-profile takeover earlier this year.
And fans in the Berkshire market town couldn't believe their eyes when the actors took their place on the terraces on their unexpected trip.
Almost every spectator turned their attention to the pair with camera-phone flashes lighting up the 4,000-capacity York Road ground.
Reynolds and McElhenney bought the Welsh club in February but had been unable to attend until now.
And they may have wished they had waited another game as the Red Dragons fell to a 3-2 defeat, with Bryce Hosannah also getting sent off for the visitors.
Their spirits may have taken a knock when Maidenhead went 2-0 up but goals from Paul Mullin and Jordan Davies restored parity, and had Reynolds and McElhenney hugging one another on the terraces.
Covid restrictions and scheduling problems prevented the pair from attending their first match together, which had been a goal of theirs.

And the actors were beaming from ear to ear as the travelling support welcomed them.
A film crew also followed the duo into the ground, which perhaps is no surprise given their profession.
Speculation grew over the weekend that Reynolds and McElhenney were due to make a visit to Wrexham's Racecourse ground.
A new viewing platform was fitted with padded seats to accommodate their arrival.
According to the , the Hollywood stars will combine watching their team in action with community activities in North Wales.
And Wrexham fans will hope their presence inspires an improvement from the players and boss Phil Parkinson, who has overseen just four wins in 11 league games despite heavy investment over the summer.
Mullin, who was top scorer in League Two last season, arrived along with former Premier League player David Jones.
