West Ham transfer news: Slaven Bilic admits he wants to sign Wilfried Bony and also confirms his interest in Juventus striker Simone Zaza
SLAVEN BILIC has confirmed he wants Wilfried Bony AND Simone Zaza.
The West Ham boss is in the market for a striker after he suffered the double injury blow of losing both Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew in his opening two Prem games of the season.
And Bilic has confirmed that he is looking to land Bony, who Manchester City signed from Swansea in a £28million deal last summer only to slip behind Kelechi Iheanacho in the Citizens' pecking order.
Although Bilic has confirmed that he one of the players he is looking at to ease his striker crisis, Ivorian hit-man Bony has been linked with a January move to China.
The Croatian said: "We have a couple of players we are trying to do a deal with. We have injuries and we are short of numbers.
"In terms of signings if something good quality wise comes up we are going to act.
"Bony is an option because he plays in the position we are looking for. I leave negotiations to the chairman and Tony Henry."
Bilic is also a long-term admirer of Juventus striker Zaza - who shot to fame for his amazing run-up before blazing a penalty over the bar in Italy's Euro 2016 shootout exit to Germany.
Zaza's father has announced that his son is weighing up whether to join the Hammers although, as exclusively revealed by SunSport, they face competition from Southampton.
Bilic has confirmed that a deal could be in the offing.
The Hammers boss added: "We were linked with him (Zaza) last year and he is a top player.
"We were in contact with him last year and will see what happens."
If they deal goes through, co-chairman David Sullivan may have to do negotiations from his hospital bed.
