Marcus Rashford: Manchester United wonderkid told by Jose Mourinho he is in his plans and will not be allowed out on loan after England snub by Sam Allardyce
United insider said that Rashford, 18, has been told in no uncertain terms that he will be given his chance this term
MARCUS RASHFORD has been reassured by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho that he is in his plans and will NOT be allowed out on loan this summer.
The Sun told this week how Rashford, 18, had been axed from Sam Allardyce's first England squad because of a lack of action at United but Mourinho has told him he will be given a chance to break into his team.
Ex-Chelsea chief Mourinho has told the teenager he will mainly be used in the Cup competitions and to give Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney a rest.
A United insider said: “Marcus Rashford is going nowhere and clubs haven't chanced their arm as a result.
“Jose has plenty of time for him in training and has already taken him aside and explained he will have his opportunities.
“He will be mainly used in the early rounds of the Cup competitions and when others need a rest. He's a good kid and isn't rocking the boat at this stage.”
Allardyce, who picks his first squad on Sunday, had said it would be difficult to pick Rashford if he was not featuring in the United team.
Big Sam said: “Rashford is not playing. It makes it harder for me now to select him.
“At such a young age, do I say ‘Go play in the Under-21s, get used to international football and it will help you hopefully break into the Manchester United team and then the England senior team’?
“You’ve got all those scenarios to consider.”
The youngster scored on his England debut against Australia in May and was selected for the doomed Euro 2016 squad.
And we exclusively revealed how Rashford was staying behind after training at Carrington to get shooting tips from Ibrahimovic.
He has been working with the Swedish star since he arrived at the club earlier this summer.
Red Devils youngsters James Wilson, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Guillermo Varela and Adnan Januzaj have all been shipped off on loan this season by Mourinho, but Rashford will not be joining them.
