Former Chelsea and Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen signs for FC Pune City
ICELAND legend Eidur Gudjohnsen has joined Indian Super League side FC Pune City.
The 37-year-old, who represented his country at this summer’s Euros, replaces Adrian Mutu as the club’s marquee player.
Former Chelsea, Tottenham and Stoke City forward Gudjohnsen was confirmed as a FC Pune player on Thursday by the club’s official Twitter account.
Gudjohnsen made his name at Bolton before he switched to Stamford Bridge in 2000, winning two Premier League titles under Jose Mourinho.
He left the Blues for Barcelona in 2006, and after playing alongside the likes of SunSport columnist Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho, he lifted the Champions League in 2007.
Following a spell at Monaco, he returned to England in 2010 with Spurs before joining Stoke the following season and then Fulham on loan.
