ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger is confident the Gunners will have new recruits before deadline day.
Wenger said he is "99 per cent" sure that deals will be done before the transfer window slams shut next Wednesday night.
Arsenal have been linked with Valencia centre-back Shkodran Mustafi and Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez in recent days.
When asked about the pair, Wenger said: "We are working on the deals, but we are not close enough to announce today.
"Will we sign anyone before the window closes?
"I’m 99 per cent confident that we will make a signing.
"I'm more optimistic than before but I can't announce anything yet."
Both Mustafi and Perez are reported to be flying into London for a medical TODAY.

Wenger added: "It was a strange transfer market, I expected it to be easier than ever, it has been more difficult than ever.
"It looks like it will be frenetic in the last three days, everyone has sat on their money but we know they will all splash out now."
Wenger also confirmed that, despite the defensive crisis, Calum Chambers would be going on loan - but will not be sold.
