Chelsea transfer news: Marcelo Brozovic bid accepted by Inter Milan but deal complicated as Italians offer lucrative new contract

CHELSEA have reportedly seen a £21million bid accepted for Marcelo Brozovic, but the deal could be under threat after Inter Milan offered their key midfielder a new contract.
The Blues are hoping to bring Brozovic to west London before the transfer window closes as Antonio Conte looks to make some late additions to his squad.
The 23-year-old Croatian ace is apparently aiming to leave the San Siro this summer following the big-money arrival of Joao Mario from Sporting Lisbon.
Chelsea outcast Cesc Fabregas has been tipped to trade places, and Brozovic’s agent claims there is also interest from Arsenal.
Miroslav Bicanic revealed: “There are many options and we are talking about some big European clubs.
“I hear that Chelsea representatives are in Milan and that Arsenal are also prepared to sign him. Inter are pushing to sell to one of these two clubs who are prepared to pay a sum that satisfies all concerned.”
But claims Chelsea are in pole position after seeing a cash bid accepted by the Serie A hopefuls.
Conte is said to have offered Brozovic a lucrative contract, but the 23-year-old is asking for a higher salary.
And the deal has now been complicated by Inter after they matched Chelsea’s wages, even though it also falls well short of Brozovic’s demands.
