Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Mauricio Pochettino launches audacious £38million bid for Schalke’s Max Meyer
SPURS are making an audacious £38million bid for highly-rated Schalke midfielder Max Meyer.
Liverpool were interested in the Bundesliga starlet, 20, earlier this summer, with Jurgen Klopp a big admirer of the playmaker.
But according to , Mauricio Pochettino wants to nab Meyer from under their noses with a whopping £38m offer - a reaction to rumours that long-time target Isco will join Malaga on loan, and not Spurs.
Meyer, like Isco, can rival Dele Alli for an an attacking midfield slot for the Lillywhites.

Meyer was a regular in Schalke’s side during the 2015-16 campaign, making 41 appearances across all competitions and scoring six goals as they finished fifth in the Bundesliga.
He has made over 100 appearances in all competitions, scoring 19 goals from midfield.
Earlier in the summer, Meyer as also expressed a desire to move to the Premier League.
He said: "If I left Schalke and was going to play football in any other league in Europe I would like to move to England."
