CHELSEA have been left stunned after top midfield target Marcelo Brozovic rejected a Stamford Bridge move to agree a new deal at Inter Milan instead.
The Blues were confident of signing the Croatia international after having a £21million offer accepted by his club.
But the wages on offer at Chelsea weren’t to Brozovic’s satisfaction, prompting a late proposal from Inter to stay at the San Siro.
And the 23-year-old’s agent has now confirmed that his client will be remaining in Italy despite the big-money arrival of Joao Mario from Sporting Lisbon.
Miroslav Bicanic revealed Brozovic would have earned more money at Chelsea, but the chance to work with new Inter boss Frank De Boer was a decisive factor.
He told : “Yes it is official, Brozo will stay at Inter. Otherwise, he would have been on the plane to London and not with the national team in Sisak.
