John Terry make the most of England retirement by topping up his incredible tan on holiday in Portugal
Former Three Lions skipper ruled out return under Sam Allardyce as he rest up before reunion with David Luiz
JOHN TERRY is making the most of his England retirement – by topping up his tan in the Algarve.
The former Three Lions skipper had been tipped for an international recall in Sam Allardyce’s first squad as boss last week.
But Terry – who retired from England duty in 2012 – ruled out a return for Sunday’s World Cup 2018 qualifier with Slovakia.
And it doesn’t look like he is regretting his decision one bit as he lounges by the pool in Portugal, while Big Sam’s boys prepare to make the long trip to Trnava.
Terry, 35, won 78 caps for his country but quit when the FA launched a disciplinary heading against him for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, calling his position ‘untenable’.
He has continued to Chelsea captain, who have made a 100 per cent start to the Premier League season under new boss Antonio Conte.
Terry will return to London tomorrow to train with the rest of the Blues’ non-international contingent.
He posted a selfie of his tanned body on Instagram, saying: “Last day today.”
Terry will be rested up ready to fight to keep his place in Chelsea side following the £30million return of former team-mate David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain.
The pair formed a formidable partnership in the Brazilian’s first spell at Stamford Bridge, winning the Champions League in 2012.
