LUKE SHAW bravely battled back from a horror injury — and has overcome his fear of taking driving lessons.
Just do not get him started on his daunting first chat with Jose Mourinho — the man he turned down at Chelsea two years ago.
Shaw’s £33million switch from Southampton to Manchester United infuriated the ex-Blues boss, who claimed he moved north for the money.
But when Mourinho was named new United manager, crocked Shaw was one of the few players not away on Euro 2016 duty.
The left-back, 21, said: “We spoke about what happened. I was going to leave it but he had a joke about it! I’m not going to say what the joke was but there are no hard feelings.
"I just felt I had a better chance of playing at United. Patrice Evra was leaving and Jose, at that time, had a solid back four that I knew he liked.”
Shaw looks set to return for England in Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Slovakia after recovering from breaking his leg against PSV Eindhoven 12 months ago.
He had a tough first year under Louis van Gaal at United but was flourishing before getting crocked on Champions League duty.
But he added: “I wasn’t bothered watching videos of it, or pictures of my leg. That might sound a bit weird but I feel comfortable talking about it because I feel stronger than ever.
“I don’t want people to know me as the left-back who broke his leg when he was young. Obviously, I went through a bad time but I came back a stronger person.”
Now Shaw is looking forward to working with new Three Lions boss Sam Allardyce. He said: “First impressions are really good. He’s really excited to be England boss and it’s the start of a journey aimed at qualifying for the World Cup.”

Meanwhile, Adam Lallana hopes to end his England goal drought on Sunday — at the 27th attempt.
The Liverpool midfielder, 28, has failed to hit the net in 26 internationals and said: “Obviously, it would be nice to get it — I’m sure it will come.
