JURGEN KLOPP gave his scouting team both barrels after wonderkid Oliver Burke's surprise move to Red Bull Leipzig.

Klopp's recruitment bods were caught on the hop when Nottingham Forrest suddenly sold the winger to the Germans for £15million.

Liverpool's boss had earmarked Burke as one for the future but he is now out of reach after his shock switch to the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old had been attracting interest from European giants including Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Manchester United.

The deal was a massive coup for Leipzig - who are playing top flight football for the first time in their history this season.

Burke, who has two Scottish caps to his name, had been in sensational form at Forest this season scoring four times in four starts.

He is predicted to have a bright future in the game after bursting onto the scene last campaign but many expected him to sign for a top European side before deadline day on Wednesday.

However Leipzig, who have mega-rich owners, managed to lure him to Germany - and make the midfielder the most expensive Scottish player ever.
