JOSE MOURINHO has been given the green light by Manchester United to smash the transfer record again to bring Antoine Griezmann to Old Trafford.
As SunSport reported on Thursday, the Portuguese boss has already identified the Frenchman forward as the man to replace Wayne Rooney long-term in the Red Devils attack.
Mourinho is already plotting a summer move for the Atletico Madrid man, and he is confident that he his side will deliver Champions League football this season to help entice the 25-year-old to Old Trafford.
Griezmann proved he is one of the most deadly strikers in the game this summer as he fired six goals to help his country reach the final of Euro 2016.
United have already poached Atletico super scout Gerardo Cuzman this week, and despite knowing they will face competition from Europe’s big guns, they are confident they can nab the crown jewel of the La Liga outfit.

And with Griezmann under contract in Madrid until 2021, he knows he will most likely have to smash that figure again to land the superstar.

And they are willing to continue backing Mourinho to the hilt in his attempts to assemble a squad that can dominate both domestically and on the continent.
