BRUNO FERNANDES will be Barcelona's No1 summer transfer target if they cannot secure Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

The 27-year-old Portuguese star has struggled in recent months during Manchester United's poor run of performances.

Since netting a hat-trick on the opening day of the Premier League season, Fernandes has managed just two goals in 16 games.

And with just one goal involvement in his last eight Prem appearances, there are now reports he could be on his way out of Old Trafford at the end of the campaign.

According to El Nacional, Barcelona's main priority is to sign Haaland in the summer.

But if they miss out on the 21-year-old Norwegian then next on their list of targets is Man Utd man Fernandes.

He joined the Red Devils in the January transfer window two years ago and immediately hit the ground running.

And he has racked up a sensational 45 goals and 34 assists in 105 games since arriving in England.

But he could be tempted by a new challenge in Spain if Man Utd's form continues to stall.

Despite Barca's serious financial crisis they have still signed Manchester City forward Ferran Torres for £55million.

But they are currently unable to register him as they need to sell players or reduce their wage bill in order to keep within LaLiga's financial fair play rules.

Meanwhile, new Man Utd manager Ralf Rangnick suffered his first defeat as boss on Monday when his side were comprehensively outplayed in a 1-0 home loss to Wolves.

But he has told his players they now need to learn from those mistakes and move on.

Speaking after the match, he said: “I can only tell you about the squad, obviously I don't know about the atmosphere inside the club.

“The players, locker room, coaching staff, everybody was very disappointed after the game against Wolves. All the players were frustrated, like myself.

“In the first-half we didn't get hold of the build-up of Wolves. The second half was better, but we didn't score, and conceded 10 mins from time.

“It's a question of balance, between offence and defence, offensively we have quality but we have to show the best possible balance.”

“They're at least trying, I'm sure they are listening and we showed in the games against Palace, Burnley and in parts against Norwich, and Newcastle that they are trying to follow the advice I give them.

“We are conceding less goals than before. Still, it’s about balance, we need to find the best possible balance between offence and defence and this is something we have to get better on.”

United currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, four points off a Champions League place.
